About Generations • Lombard & Nearby Suburbs

Generations is more than a name.

It’s family, knowledge passed forward, and a straightforward belief: you deserve to understand what’s happening in your home before deciding what to do about it.

We’re a local, veteran-owned HVAC company built around repair-first service, honest explanations, and respect for the person asking for help.

Why “Generations”

Some things are worth passing on.

Our name starts with family. Chris’s father has decades of HVAC experience, and that connection to the trade is part of our story. Knowledge is something to learn, share, and pass forward—not something to keep to ourselves.

The name looks ahead, too. We want to build a company our families can be proud of, with opportunities future generations may choose to be part of. A business worth passing on starts with how we treat people today.

And it’s about your family, not only ours. We want to be the company you feel comfortable calling again, asking a question, and recommending to someone you care about.

Meet the people behind Generations
We don’t sell, we inform.

The work matters. So does how you feel about the people doing it.

The People Behind The Work

Different responsibilities. The same approach.

Chris and Carlos bring different experience to Generations. Both want the same result: a customer who understands the next step and feels respected along the way.

Chris Smith

Technical & Field Service

Chris leads the technical side of Generations: diagnostics, repairs, installations, and the quality of the work. His background includes hospital mechanical systems and residential HVAC.

He enjoys the part of a service call where a homeowner asks, “What are you looking at?” An explanation is part of the work, not an interruption to it.

Carlos Peña

Operations & Customer Care

Carlos is a retired U.S. Marine with a background in business administration. He leads the operations and customer-care side of Generations, including scheduling, communication, and business coordination.

His work supports a clear path from the first conversation to the service visit—with respect for your questions, your time, and your decision.

Teachers, Not Salespeople

Curious about what we’re doing? Good.

You don’t need to apologize for asking questions. We like helping homeowners understand the equipment they depend on: what we’re checking, what the results mean, and why a recommendation makes sense.

When it’s safe and practical, we’ll show you what we’re seeing. At other times, a photo or a plain-English explanation can make the finding easier to follow.

Prefer the main points instead of a lesson? That’s welcome, too. The goal isn’t to turn you into a technician. It’s to give you enough understanding to make a decision you’re comfortable with.

You should leave the conversation feeling heard and respected—not tested on what you know.

The Generations Approach

Respect is part of the service.

You’re inviting us into your home because you need help. We want the experience to feel straightforward from the first conversation to the explanation of the work.

01

Make room for your experience

What have you noticed? When did it change? We listen before assuming we know the problem.

02

Explain before asking you to decide

You should understand the finding, the realistic options, and the price of proposed work before authorizing it.

03

Take responsibility for our work

Questions and concerns deserve a response. If we make a mistake, we own it and work to put it right.

We want to earn the next call by how we handle this one.

Repair First. Explain The Options.

A recommendation should have a reason you can understand.

When a safe, sensible repair is available, we’ll talk about it. When replacement deserves consideration, we’ll explain why. The equipment’s age alone is not our entire conversation.

Sometimes the right next step is a repair. Sometimes it’s more investigation or a plan for later. And sometimes there’s no additional work to recommend today.

We’ll explain what we know, what we still need to check, and what each option means for you. Then you decide among the safe options.

Tell us what you need help with

You don’t need all the answers before you call.

Tell us what’s going on in your home. We’ll listen, explain the next step, and make room for your questions.
